WOYWW 217

I nearly missed out on this weeks WOYWW due to a very sick laptop! Sorry I was unable to visit everyone last week as I had to leave it with the computer 'doctor' last Wednesday and only got it back today - I'd been told to collect it last Friday, but it wasn't any better, so he kept it over the weekend and when I went back on Monday, it was even worse than before! But all is well now and I can get back to blogging at last! My desk has just got even more untidy since last week, but I have been die cutting some felt and have made a wee doggy key ring, using one of my very first sizzix dies!  Of course it was necessary to pull out lots of ribbon, beads, etc, to find out what worked best, and then I also found some bits and pieces I thought might come in useful for another project.  The Raspberry Road paper was a free gift with this months Quick Cards magazine.  The three new rolls of ribbon were purchased from Dunelm Mill, when we had a trip up to Belfast on Saturday - and guess what else I bought? - yet another piece of oilcloth for making bags! - this one has scottie dogs all over it.
To join in the WOYWW fun this week, visit Julia HERE.

  1. How did we manage before computers? It's a nightmare when they go wrong isn't it? My trusty old printer has finally given up the ghost. I've been without it for two days - just how much have I 'needed' to print in that time?! I'm collecting the new one this afternoon - phew! Happy Wednesday. :o)

  5. Felt works in the die cuts? As in a bug or Bigshot? Why have I never tried this? Love your keyring or bag charm, it is fabulous. I hate it when my 'pooter plays up... it can make me totally miserable. Annette #1 for the first time in 4 years!

  6. G'day Bernice
thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving a message for WOYWW. Star cards are very easy...making felted key rings now that would challenge me LOL. Oh I get side tracked when I am creating too...get something out, think of some thing else and have to get that out too LOL. Glad they fixed your computer

  7. Oil cloth? hummm. Not a crafting tool I've ever considered. I think I need to browse back a bit and see if you "tell all" in another post :) Get well soon to your laptop....mine won't hold a charge for more than about 30 minutes and I keep meaning to sort it, but the iPad ha mostly replaced it so I guess I will just keep putting it off... :)
    cute paper pad too, BTW

    Happy WOYWW!

  9. Computers are such a big way of our lives now that we are lost without them when they play up aren't we? I hope it doesn't give you anymore problems for a while. I am loving the look of your new ribbons, very pretty. Hope you have a great week and Happy WOYWW! Danie #25

  10. Another sick laptop ... I think there must be a virus doing the rounds :) Glad yours is back in working order, Bernice. Love the doggie keyring - very cute. Dunelm Mill is one of my favourite sources of fabric and I think I spotted that oilcloth last time I was over at the Kilmarnock branch - look forward to seeing the bags you make with it. Have a good week. Elizabeth x #16

  13. Glad your laptop woes are over - it's very inconvenient isn't it! Sweet key ring tag, what a nice idea. And how nice too that pulling out some stash for one thing may have inspired another.

  16. Hi thanks for visiting me this week. I'm sorry I'm late getting to you. read having a 'sick' computer. Lots of lovely goodies there to play with. I usually pull out all sorts of bits when I am trying to come up with an idea. Only way I can work. Leaves a right mess though :-) Anne x #24

  17. I am another one who is very late getting round this week, but I made it in the end. We are so dependent on our computers now to keep in touch with each other. Can you imagine the cost if we had to use snail mail and/or telephones to manage the WOYWW blog hop? You have some lovely things on show this week, and what pretty ribbon. I am feeling quite brave now about spiders as my spider vacuum has arrived and is ready for action. Have a good week. xx Maggie #48

  19. Now see! This is what the top of my desk SHOULD look like. This is its natural state. It is so unnatural these days with its tidiness. For awhile there I had to roll the lid down every night or else the kittens rooted around in things and/or knocked everything off it. The past couple of weeks I have left it open and it seems to be going well. We even tried leaving the bathroom door open at night again. They would play in the bathtub at night and make an unholy noise. That one isn't going as well as the desk. My cats would love, love, love to come visit and play with all your ribbon!
