WOYWW 163

Time for this weeks WOYWW - to join in go to Julia's blog HERE.  My desk is a bit untidy this week as I've been trying to sort out what to make for an 80th birthday card for a man who keeps sheep - all I could find was this decoupage and now I'm trying to find paper to match up with it.  The label with the orange and white cord is from a White Stuff dress - I thought it was too nice to throw away and I might be able to do something crafty with it! Then recently I had noticed a few people had made cards with this new Tilda stamp with the sewing machine (called 'Tailor Tilda') so one arrived in the post today from the Glitterpot and I had to try stamping it straight away.  I'm thinking of using paper from this pad with it - I usually select paper and then colour the image to co-ordinate with it.  The red book is a page to view diary that I use to jot down sketches from various challenges etc. and the phone is there because I've just been chatting to my Mum - I phone her every night around midnight when she gets into bed!

  1. That Tilda is just way to cute. Those papers will be just perfect. The manly choices are really nice also. I don't get to do a whole lot of mens cards. Just a few every year for my son and brother-in-law. #30

  3. Hi Bernice, your desk doesn't look untidy to me.
I think choosing the paper first is the best idea but I never seem to do it that way, usually too anxious to start colouring then I stress over matching colours lol.

  12. I'm not a big paper piecer, but the way you have the stamped image on the stack of paper makes me think it would look gorgeous pieced from those papers. And I don't think you're desk is all that tidy. I once had stuff piled a foot deep on my desk. I'm trying to do better!

Thanks for stopping by and being lovely.

  14. Thanks for your nice comment, Bernice - yes, the inks are awesome and I'm having a great time playing with them. The first thing I'm going to do is make up some 3-D flowers.

  16. Looks interesting - I have to admit when "colouring in" I tend to stamp with black but brown looks like it might be something to try. The card sounds a challenge, but then most "men" cards are!

  20. Those papers will be just perfect with the image of the sheep - and I think the card will be lovely for the man who keeps sheep. A sketch diary seems a good idea but I rarely work from a sketch ... maybe I should :)) Elizabeth x #75

  21. Oh my! A midnight bedtime. That is far too late for me. I'd have turned into a pumpkin by then. While I do like the final sheep card, the papers that are stacked under here would have worked well too. Lovely papers you picked to go with your Tilda image. I'm with you, I usually pick the papers first and then color the image to match. Happy WOYWW... that was only yesterday but it seems like it was so long ago. Thanks for the visit by my desk.

  24. I'm here late enough that I got to see the finished sheep card, it's brilliant, love those papers you used. Not a fan of Tilda though!!! Hope the weather in the UK eases up and lets you salvage some of the summer still. Have a great weekend.
