Funky Chicken

Hello again,
No cards today I'm afraid - I spent most of the day trying to sort out Nathan's bedroom - at what age do they start clearing up after themselves? - I hope its sooner rather than later!  Unfortunately its still not finished, but it will have to wait 'til next week as tomorrow we are going off to a class in Doodlecraft (Cookstown) - I think its baby cards we're making.
Anyhow, my blog is not just for cards as I like all kinds of other crafts as well and this little hen was made using fabric from The Craft Factory, Ballymena.  I had a pattern and the beads used for the feet, comb and wattle came with the pattern - but I was able to buy similar ones to make a few more.  It is a really cute way to store pins, needles, scissors etc.

  1. Hi Bernice,
Thank you for the lovely comment on my blog today. I have to say I love your crafty space. It looks fab!
You were asking me about the Marianne dies and the Sidekick.
The smaller of the rolled flowers would fit and providing you have one of the wee Sizzix adapter plates it should work ok for you. Unfortunately the larger flower die is just too big to fit through the space.
It would be well worth it to get a Big Shot. There are so many deals around and it would open up a whole world of die cutting for you. You can cut virtually every other make of die on the BS and all sorts of materials too. :)I have a Wizard and a Grand Calibur but I wouldn't part with my Big shot for love or money.

  2. Hi just me back again. I forgot to say how I glued the flowers into place.
I normally weave the wires together so that I can get the shape I want, cut off excess stems and then I use Crafter's Pick Incredibly tacky glue to hold them in place. It takes a while to go off but those babies will never move believe me. :)
You can get the glue from Wild Orchid crafts as well as the flowers, embellishments and ribbons.

    Hope this helps!
