WOYWW 155
It's Wednesday again, so time for WOYWW - pop over to Julia's blog to see what it's all about! Not many cards being made at the moment - I am too busy working on my niece's wedding invitations - obviously I can't show you them now, but I have had to make wee boxes to put them in and that's what's on my desk this week. The circle punch I had last week is for making the semi-circle on the edge of the lid, to make them easier to open. You will see some new Magnolia stamps - I found a site called Tilda's Town where they have a great selection and don't charge for postage to the UK (not even to N Ireland! - lots of UK companies who advertise free UK postage charge extra for NI!!) Just another wee picture this week of what's behind the desk - she clmbed up over all my paper etc, and sat on the windowsill peaking over!

Get Well
This weeks challenge for PB and Papertake Weekly are both 'In the Garden' - so this wee PB hedgehog with his big pot of roses was just the ticket. The Doodlebug papers with the bright and colourful flowers also tied in with the theme. I used the sketch from the Friday sketch challenge for the layout and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. I think I'll add some stickles to the flowers to finish off - but I need to get this posted quickly or I'll be too late for the PB challenge!
The bright pink and green colours used also tie in with this weeks PFP challenge which was an inspiration photo with lots of pink and green ribbons, so as I've used Promarkers for my colouring, I can enter it there as well!

SU Birthday card
I made this card for the SU challenge which was to use island indigo, real red, whisper white and regal rose colours. The card, paper, inks and stamps are all from SU also. The layout was this weeks Sweetstop sketch - SSS158. Some of the flowers were made using punches and an adhesive gem added to finish off.

LOTV Baby card
I made this baby card using one of my new LOTV stamps, coloured with Promarkers. The baby girl sentiment is also from LOTV, punched out with the SU oval punch. The pink cardstock and ribbon is SU Pretty in Pink and the flowers were made using punches. The lace has a sparkly thread running through it and I have added Stickles to the dots on her dress. This weeks CCT challenge is 'A touch of sparkle,' so I can enter it there as well as the LOTV challenge - which is 'Bear essentials' - well she is pushing a wee bear in the pram!

Monochrome birthday
I thought I would post this card today - I made it using SU papers and the car is 'recycled' from a card DH got for his birthday last year. The stars were die cut using an x-cut die set and the sentiment is from Craftwork cards matted on an oval of SU paper, punched out with a SU punch. The Stampavie challenge is 'Monochrome' and the Allsorts one is a card for a man or a boy, so I can enter it there as well.
I won't be around now for a few days as I'm going down to stay at Mum's for a funeral. My Auntie passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning after a long battle with cancer - exactly 7 months since the day of Dad's funeral. She had only turned 65 a couple of weeks ago and we are all going to miss her so much.

Something sweet
This card was made following the sketch on Friday Sketch Challenge - but it also fits with the Simon Says challenge for this week - 'Sweet Tooth.' The DP are by Raspberry Road - 'Summer Goodness' and the sweets are made using Sizzlets dies. The happy birthday stamp and label punch are by SU. I've added glossy accents to the sweets and Tulip 'Pearl' in yellow for the wee seeds on the strawberry.

Swirls and Pearls
Here is my entry for the Magnolia challenge this week - 'Swirls and pearls.' The DP is from a pack I got ages ago, by MME, called 'Wild Asparagus.' I made the roses from felt using a Marianne die and the swirls are die cut with a Sizzix die. The leaves are die cut with a Sizzix die as well, from SU and the image was coloured with Promarkers. For the layout I followed the sketch on this weeks Sketchy Challenges.
Back to lots of rain today - at least it stayed dry yesterday and we were able to get to do the tour of the Marble Arch Caves - I think the children enjoyed it - better than normal classes anyhow!

A giant ladybird has taken over my workdesk this week! I've been preparing for a school craft class - some of the children are going to make these ladybirds from felt, so I was having a go to make sure it works out OK! I can't finish it just yet as I need to be able to show them how to do the blanket stitch around the spots (cut out with one of my Nesties dies!) and then how to sew up the seams. The card making has been put to one side - I have a wee Magnolia image stamped and was choosing the paper before I coloured it - maybe I'll get time to colour it tomorrow. You'll probably notice I had to get my glasses out - I don't need them for card making, but when it comes to threading needles late at night, its easier with glasses! Another wedding card
It must be wedding season as both the shop and school where we sell our cards are low in stock of wedding cards! So another one today - this time using one of my recent LOTV purchases. I followed the sketch on this weeks Sweet Stop sketch challenge (SSS157). The scalloped card and sentiment came from Craftwork Cards and the plain white card was embossed using a Crafts Too embossing folder - then matted on Mirri card. I coloured the church with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and the flowers and leaves were made using punches. To finish it off I added Stickles and gems to the flowers.
Wedding card
I made this wedding card using a Whiff of Joy stamp, coloured with Promarkers, following this weeks Sketch and Stash sketch. I've had the stamp and paper for ages, but I think this is the first time I've used the MS punch and the lilac gingham ribbon. The sentiment is from LOTV. Since I've used charms, pearls and lace (as well as flowers and ribbon!) I can enter it in the Whiff of Joy challenge as well.
More rain today - hoping it stops soon as I'm supposed to be taking my Geography class to the Marble Arch Caves tomorrow and they'll be closed if it rains too much!

Boys birthday card
A quick boys birthday card to show you today, using one of my LOTV stamps - they have some really great ones for wee boys. Their challenge this week is 'Anything Goes.' I coloured it using Promarkers and as the PFP challenge this week is 'Light and bright' I have used fairly plain, light coloured DP to go with the brightly coloured image. The paper is from the Doodlebug 'Snips and Snails' 6 x 6 pad - I just love these wee pads - may have to buy some more! The Simon says challenge is to use a birthday theme, so I can enter it there as well and CCT is 'One for the Boys.' The banner was cut using a whimsy die and the sentiment stamp, punches and green card, are all from SU.
We're back to rain here today for the bank holiday - after a few lovely days. Of course I left my gardening until today and now it's much too wet - so I will just have to stay inside and craft! (Mind you, I have a big pile of ironing to do, but crafting sounds much more appealing!)

Sketch and stash baby card
I made this card using this weeks sketch on Sketch and Stash. The paper is from the Doodlebug 6 x 6 pads and is fairly new stash. The lace is a bargain buy from The Range - 99p! The image is one of my oldest Sugar Nellie purchases - I don't think they are available any more. I coloured it using Promarkers. The sentiment stamp is from LOTV.

Stampin Up Engagement card
A quick post to get this card in on time! The theme on Simply Stampin this week is 'perfect pairs' and so I used my SU punch to make this wee pair of owls. The border punch is also from SU and the paper and card are 'tempting turquoise' and 'regal rose.' I used a sketch from the 'Clean and Simple Stamping' blog for the general layout.

Sketch Saturday Birthday Card
A wee birthday card today, using the sketch on this weeks Sketch Saturday blog. The image is from LOTV, coloured with Prismacolors for a change. The papers are from Bo Bunny - The Sweet Tooth collection and the little heart is from MeiFlower. I can enter it into the LOTV challenge as its 'Anything Goes' this week

WOYWW 152
Well what's on my workdesk this Wednesday? - a mess that's what! I have been accumulating a pile of 'bits' on the left hand side - now topped with a few clear stamps and a printout of some of the previous skteches from Sweet stop sketches. There are also quite a few 8 x 8 and 6 x 6 pads of paper out - I bought the new flower shaped buttons last week and was trying to see which of my papers they would match up with. You might notice a wee bag of chocolate eggs - I was very good and didn't eat them all at Easter - but I don't think they'll be around for much longer - well, you wouldn't want them to go out of date now, would you?!!

Back to normal
Sorry for being AWOL for this last week or so - it was just the deadline for GCSE coursework was today and I had heaps of marking to do! Then, the GCSE and A level classes all go off on study leave at the end of this week, so I had lots of mock exams to mark as well. It's a big relief to have it all done and have a bit of time for crafting again! I made this wedding card tonight using a past Sweet Stop sketch (SSS123) - their sketches are great for layouts for cards and the one I did last week was chosen as a Spotlight card! The paper is from a free Nitwits pack that came with Simply Homemade magazine. The image is a Magnolia stamp (coloured with Promarkers) and I can enter their challenge as it is 'Buttons and Bows.'
