Well I have not really accomplished very much since last week apart from a couple of special order cards - one for a 40th anniversary and this one for an 18th for a farmer who has a blue tractor!! You can also spot a couple of things I was trying out with some of the products in my pre-order parcel - the black cats (new punch) and the wee test tube treat holders - so excited about these - as a science teacher I just couldn't resist them - they even have the old cork type bungs like we used years ago and one pack of 'Millions' fills two tubes with some left over for me to sample!!
My lecture (last Wed) is thankfully over and it was as expected - a bit stressful!! I left home in plenty of time and had all my directions printed off from the aa routeplanner but as it was a very wet day with lots of spray and I got stuck behind a very large lorry load of bales of hay/straw? I couldn't see the road signs in time to get into the right lane etc, so had to depend on the directions of 'Dolly' the sat nav, - who managed to take me into a building site at the far end of a housing development and had the cheek to announce 'You have reached your destination' as I was trying to turn the car round on a muddy patch of building site!! At this point I studied my map and routeplanner instructions and managed to backtrack to the last large roundabout and got to where I was meant to be. I still arrived much too early but was offered to start in the previous slot to mine so that I could be finished and get home early - this meant I was a bit rushed to set out all my display items, but at least I got it all over with earlier than expected!

sounds like quite a stressful week last week, glad it is all over for you! Your desk looks very busy, that 18th card is great!! Helen #4
ReplyDeleteYou are firing on all cylinders this morning, Bernice! No 1 spot, a mini silver-lining despite lack of sleep, maybe?
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting already, and I hope no more rest and sleep are stolen by worry :)

Happy WOYWW!

PS Very cute card btw xx
Well the cat punch is going to be a hit don't you think! Nice card, you are good to do the commissions, the odd bits of info about people like 'he's got a blue tractor' was the sort of reason that I back away from them! I think the logistics of getting to the lecture were very stressful, I hate that heart thumping part where you can't even get to the destination easily...but I bet the lecture itself was great.
ReplyDeleteHi Bernice. Well done on the lecture - even despite the problems. Sat navs really are the limit aren't they? They tell you all sorts of rubbish. I'm a map person as well - don't even have a sat nav in the car! That's a great card.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

ReplyDeleteWhat a stressful journey, good job you allowed plenty of time.
ReplyDeleteGreat card there and love those test tubes - would be perfect stocking fillers.

Hi Bernice, glad that the lecture is over and that the stress is reduced. Early is better than late at least. Love the look of that cat punch as we are a cat family and it would come in useful. Happy WOYWW Sarah #18
ReplyDeleteHi Bernice, really sympathise with the satnav thing. Most of the time they are wonderful, but every now and again they really try your patience. I remember one year we decided to go the Gloucester for some Christmas shopping. Huge city, should be easy? Not a chance. It could not find Gloucester at all. At one point it sent us down a farm track, so out came the map at that point, lol. Glad to hear the lecture went well, and at least the earlier slot left you less time for stressing. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 XxX
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. Obviously I love that farmer card! I seem to end up leaving the house later than planned all the time now, and then rush to get somewhere on time. I used to be so organised when I was a PA. I blame my brain! Ali x #25
ReplyDeleteOh that sounds like a stressful ordeal indeed, but I'm glad there were also positive sides to it. The card design looks really cute! Have a great week! xo Cheetarah #24 WOYWW
ReplyDeleteLove the tractor card. Sat Navs can be quite confusing and downright WRONG sometimes can't they. I trusted mine to get home from meeting my friends last Saturday Night but was using my initiative also as the instructions to "bear slightly left" instead of "take the next exit off the dual carriage way" could have left me missing the turn. I followed my instinct, much better I think! Anyway they are only as good as the people who programme them so I guess we can't expect them to be right all the time. Happy WOYWW BJ#21
ReplyDeleteI love the cat punches, they'll be great for all sorts of projects! I hate satnav, i just rely on maps and google earth to recce where I'm going!

Whew! What an adventure! Good thing you gave yourself lots of time! And there's nothing like "let's do it now, when you weren't expecting to" to get things moving quickly - I'm sure you did fantastic! Love the blue tractor! Have a great week, thanks for sharing! Lindart #33
ReplyDeleteNever trust a sat nav much prefer to map it on google maps. Glad you managed to find your way. Have a relaxing week this week. Anickoana #13
ReplyDeleteHi Bernice. I love the tractor card, my grandson would love to receive that for his birthday. I have a similar 'reliable' sat nav. Great when they get it right, infuriating when they get it wrong! Have a lovely week, Heather #6
ReplyDeleteLovely card you have on your desk. My little old car doesn't have a Sat nav. which I'm quite pleased about as it would drive me crazy when they are out of date. Have a great woyww, Angela x12x
ReplyDeleteI would have been stressed, too! Well, like you said, it is over! Great tractor card. Thanks for your earlier visit to my space. #30
ReplyDeleteVery busy desk. Congrats on getting to your destination on time and getting your presentation over early.

My GPS can give goofy directions, too! We've done some very creative navigating at times. Love the tractor card. My hubby is a mechanic for farm equipment and we farmed many years ago. We have a small blue tractor now. Thanks for the visit and hope you have a great weekend!

Glad the lecture went well but what a shame about the sat nav. We have given up on ours most of the time and now use my phone to get us around - seems much more reliable - and up to date!
ReplyDeleteLove the farmers card but cannot find the cats.
Hugs and thanks for visiting me (whilst I was away), Neet x
