WOYWW 172

Nothing has really changed on my desk since last week, except for the addition of the canvas, wadding, red fabric and ribbon, that I am intending to use to make a notice board thingy for Hannah's room.  I also recently bought a new staple gun to attach the fabric to the frame, but as yet it just sits here waiting for attention.  There is also a wee pile of goodies from Florenz crafts that arrived in the post the other day (won in a recent blog challenge).  Thanks for all the good wishes concerning my operation on friday - it has gone well and I am making a good recovery, just so long as I can remember not to laugh or cough!  I can't understand why they need to make four 'holes' to take out one wee gallbladder - I had laparoscopic surgery to remove cysts years ago and they only needed two holes then!  Mind you that was back in the days when you stayed in hospital for three days - now they send you home a couple of hours later, complete with sick bowls and towels, throwing up as you go!! - oh well, I think you can sleep off all the anaesthetic better in your own bed anyhow - I was even able to manage half a cup of tea and a Jaffa cake before bedtime!  I can now get up and down the stairs to my craft room fairly well, so I might even get some crafting done soon.  At least I will have the time to visit a few more desks this week! - if you want to join in, visit Julia's blog HERE!

  20. I am so glad your op went so well and that you are recovering nicely. My op was a disaster, like you should have gone home a few hours later but ended up being an emergency admission into the main hospital and overstaying my welcome for a couple of weeks. Gallbladders must need four incisions because that's what I had too. The good news is that I've not missed my gallbladder for one teensy-weensy moment :) Take it easy and steady as you go ... you have the best excuse to put your feet up and read craft magazines :)) Happy WOYWW and have a great week. 22. Sounds like positive progress gal...although I fear that handling that huge stapler will be the equivalent of coughing for now! Take it easy! Love that warm and cheerful red.

  28. Hope you are getting some rest and relaxation..we don't do enough of that as it is so make sure you do for recovery! I wondered what you were going to use for a board behind your fabric. If you do want to see more of the kids crafts, check out the previous 2or3 posts before this weeks WOYWW. Thanks for coming by. Lisa

  29. Glad the op is behind you - I was in hospital recently for a relatively minor procedure but did get a packed lunch (sandwich, yoghurt, juice, apple and a hot drink) when I came round. You need to move to here.
Good luck with the notice board and the stapler.

  32. Glad to hear to recovery is going well Bernice, good thing you haven't got a cold (like me), you wouldn't be able to stop sneezing or coughing!! I like the fabric choice for the notice board, and your photos from your nieces wedding are lovely, beautiful bride. The sock story made me laugh, hubby has asked for a pair for Christmas so I hope his doesn't turn out the same way!!

  39. So glad you're recovering well. If you're feeling up to crafting, that's a very good sign. I had my gallbladder out about 22 years ago...when they were still cutting you wide open to get them out. Four holes seems excessive, but sounds dreamy in comparison! Keep up the good work in healing!!!

  41. I had my gallbladder removed too, wasn't a bad recovery at all, so hopefully you will up and back to crafting very soon!! Here's to a happy healing! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

  42. I think that removing your Gallbladder is a slightly bigger operation, hence the four holes. They want to do my hysterectomy by laparoscopy, and that is making me more nervous than having the full on open surgery!

By now you should be feeling an awful lot better, so I will wish you you a continued recovery!

You're definitely rather eagle-eyed, as that was indeed a glass cleaning cloth on the back of my chair. However, I wasn't using it for the windows but to clean the glass in a frame before giving someone a picture. The cloth has sat on or near my desk for the whole summer - time I took it back downstairs, I think!

    Thanks for stopping by...
