WOYWW 411

I have been taking some time stamping and colouring stamped images recently to build up another stock of cards for sale, as I've been asked to stock a small local Post Office. These images are going to be used on sympathy cards and I've been trying to decide if the outline of shading is really worth the extra time it takes to do (as my hand gets quite sore with the fibromyalgia) and also if a pale blue shadow (top right image) or a pale grey shadow (both of the bottom images) looks best.  (The top left one has not been shaded). Mind you I'm not sure if you will be able to actually see any difference due to my poor photography!!  Visit the other desks at Julia's blog HERE.

  1. I suspect your worry about the shading won't register with the people who buy the cards, they'll be drawn to the very pretty image. So I wouldn't worry if I were you! Great news that the PO asked you to stock your cards though 😊

  2. I admire the fact that you are handcrafting every single card, i did 2 years in a row a Christmas card marathon for UNICEF, but now decided on making digital prints of my work. Happy WOYWW Vicky #4

  4. I do think the pale blue shadow works well, although if you are in pain, it isn't such a great difference if you need to miss it out. The pale grey doesn't really stand out that much. Sarah #11

  6. Mornin'
They are very pretty cards and I would not do the shading, ease your hand, they are lovely as they are.
    Have a good week

  7. Happy WOYWW. I like a pale grey shadow, but the one without any looks fantastic as well. I haven't done any colouring for ages, as it always makes my hand/wrist hurt. Gorgeous design. Ali x #5

  9. Hi Bernice, beautiful cards, and i think they look just as good with or without the shading. You could just do some with, then some without and see which are most popular in sales? Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #15 XxX

  12. I can see a slight difference - but they are all so pretty!
I am sympathising with the Fibro - I've just had a flare up and my fibro-fog is causing me all sorts of problems that others find quite amusing lol
    Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  16. Beautiful cards. I'm with Jan. I think they are lovely either way and the image is what they'll be drawn to. Congrats on the sales venue. Creative Blessings! Kelly #29

  17. Your cards are beautiful, Bernice. Both versions of shading are perfectly alright but I think buyers won't notice if you didn't do it to save your hands. It's the beautifully coloured image that will attract sales. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #23

  18. Lovely cards - I couldn't really see the grey shading very well, but I thought the pale blue was very pretty and I would go with whatever you feel like at the time of colouring! Good luck with them, I'm sure they'll fly off the shelves.
    Have a good week,

  19. Your cards are so pretty. It's hard to know when to stop with the decoration when you are selling cards isn't it, like you say, sometimes just keeping them simple can be the best policy. Good Luck with them and thanks for visiting earlier.
