I haven't joined in with WOYWW for ages now - I have been working on some wedding stationery that I couldn't show, but I now have it all finished off and boxed up so my desk is now safe to show again. I have been trying out some of the new SU blendabilities pens - similar to Promarkers but they come in sets of three - a light, medium and dark of the particular colour, which makes it easy to shade. Just six colours are available at the moment, but there will be another six next month. I think I'll make these poppies into little notelets or something. I bought the Gorjuss girl stamp online and it turned out to be much bigger than I thought. I like the Cherry Cobbler red for her dress - I find it difficult to shade with red Promarkers, but these three are very effective together.
*Edited to add - A few people have been asking about the 'Blendabilities' pens - yes they are a set of three different tones for shading in one colour - they come in these sets so take the headache out of deciding which tones to use together and then there is also a 'colour lifter' for highlighting the palest areas - very professional results - you can find out more HERE.

Trust SU to take the mystery out of the colouring with alcohol pens..even I would be tempted to buy them in sets of 3 tht actually match, and I don't do a lot of colouring! The poppies are lovely. And well done on the wedding stationery - there is a point isn't there, when you think that you're never going to do anything else!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing how you get on with your new pens and how they compare with your promarkers. Looks like you've made a good job so far!

Your poppies are beautiful. What a great idea to have the pens in three shades. It would make shading so much easier.

The poppies are lovely - living in Wales means I like the yellow one the best, of course... - but they are all great. Well done. Congrats on finishing all the wedding stationery. Brilliant job done.
ReplyDeleteHave had a sneaky look round, found you profile etc. I love the names of your children. Always wanted to call a daughter, Hannah. Do have a grandson, Nathan, though.
Take care. God bless.

I love your cards and your colouring is brilliant. I also adore those Gorjus stamps and they can be deceiving in size. Thanks for sharing.

What a very nice looking desk you have there! I love seeing all the punches in the cubby holes. Sometimes I think of putting my frequently used ones there but then where would I put the stuff that's already in the cubby?! I put a couple of the punches in drawer to the left. Anyway, love your cards. They look very nicely blended. I like that you can buy them in sets of three--takes the guess work right out of it. Plus I think they are made to match the SU colored paper.
ReplyDeleteyour desktop looks lovely and inviting with beautiful cards. thanks for sharing your special pens.
