WOYWW 190

Just the last wee man to stitch on a large cross stitch design that was comissioned by a local Womens Union group - mind you it has taken quite a while, right through from when I originally designed it all out on the computer.  I have had a great programme for years now, but unfortunatly it doesn't work on my laptop and cannot be updated to suit, as the company has stopped trading - so I had to do it all on one of the old computers and it took a while.  The other green ariel photo thing came in the post today to inform of us of our official address - yes we've been living here for 20 years but have only just got recognised as existing - this is what it's like to live in rural Fermanagh!! Maybe the post will be a bit more dependable now!  To find out what everyone else is up to this week visit Julia's blog HERE.

21st Anniversary

I've been asked to make a 21st wedding anniversary card, so brought out my  LOTV stamp again - it comes in very useful for anniversaries and engagements.  As usual, I coloured it with Promarkers and Flexmarkers.  The patterned paper is from a Tilda pad from Panduro (old stash) and the deep pink card, pen (used for fake stitching and stamping) and ribbon is from SU (Rose Red).  The flower and leaves are both Doohickey dies (the flower one being a fairly new purchase) and the 8 x 8 shaped card is from Craftwork cards.  For the layout, I followed this weeks Sketch and Stash sketch.  I am also entering it in the I love Promarkers challenge (Layer it up) and the Allsorts challenge (Flower Power).

WOYWW 189

I'm a very late participant in WOYWW since the time of posting changed - I'm a night owl, so was able to join in before I went to bed on the Tuesday night previously, but now as it doesn't start until Wednesday morning, I don't get to post until I get home from work. If you're wondering what all this is about, check out Julia's blog HERE.  Some lovely new bits of fabric on my (very messy) desk this week - I bought these in Watersons in Omagh so that I can get some things made as examples for my creative crafts class - they've just started on textiles last week, after passing their jewellery making.  Its a good excuse to buy some fabric - even though I have boxes of the stuff in the roofspace!  The wee card thing on the right is actually a tent card calender that I sent out to all the craft class ladies to let them know when we start back again for this session. A very appropriate image from Marianne clear stamps as most of us have been knitting recently.

Sketchy challenge

Yet another engagement card using a LOTV die cut square - I think I may need to order more of these soon! I've used the layout on this weeks Sketchy challenge.  The scalloped card is from Craftwork Cards and the paper is from a LOTV Nitwits pad (I hear there are more of these coming soon! :o)  The ribbon is from my stash - I had to purchase two new ribbon storage boxes recently to store my ever increasing collection!  The purple card was from the Paper Mill shop at Junction One before it closed down - Junction One no longer holds the same attraction!

Another engagement!

Another engagement card, using kraft card and brown paper.  This time I'm using the Sketch Saturday challenge for the layout.  The flower was made using layers of die cut flowers scrunched together - I got this idea from Vicky's blog HERE - but I think 'll have to ask how she makes them as they look much better than mine!  The ribbon is from MeiFlower (it is actually the same colour as the card IRL!) and the corner is a Marianne die (I think!).  The paper came from a First Editions pad called Desert Blooms and yet again I've used a LOTV die cut square - so handy when you haven't much time.  This week has been so busy as the CCEA moderator for Creative craft was coming to see my pupils QCF jewellery making entries and there was lots of last minute setting up etc to do.  Thankfully they all passed! I had also entered wedding stationery at level 3 and I passed as well! - so now I have the equivalent of a crafty A level!!

Engagement

An engagement card today as we needed more for the shop - there must have been a lot of people got engaged at Christmas and New Year!  I used kraft card from Anna Marie designs - bought at the NEC, although they also have it in their online shop.  The image is a die cut square from LOTV and I followed the layout on this weeks Sweet Stop sketches.  The white card at the bottom was embossed using a Couture Creations embossing folder (Trellis) - I really like this one as its a bit bigger than the normal Cuttlebug etc ones and so you can emboss a long enough piece of card to go across a 6 x 6 card without having to 'join' them.  This is about as close as I get to a CAS card, so I will enter it into this weeks Allsorts challenge as well (CAS!)  The wee white hearts were the 'waste' bits from a Fiskars border punch and the flowers were made using a punch and brown packaging paper.  The sentiment stamp is from LOTV and the shaped label punch and stamp are from SU.

Sketch and stash birthday card

A birthday card, made using lots of old stash today - the stamp is from a free set that came with one of the craft magazines.  The wee cupcake stamp is a free one from SU - I was given this when I first hosted a SU workshop a few years ago.  Colouring was done with Promarkers as usual.  The paper is from a Papermania pad and the pink card is a long retired one from SU (Pixie Pink).  As the title suggests, the layout is from this weeks Sketch and Stash.

LOTV New Baby

Another baby boy card - we need to stock up the shop! This time I have used some Nitwits paper that I've had for ages and needs used up!  The layout is this weeks Friday Sketch challenge.  The stamp is from LOTV, coloured with Promarkers.  The labels, flowers and leaves were made using punches.  I still have th problem uploading photos - has anyone any ideas - I can no longer upload directly from the computer, but have to store them in Picasa and upload from there.

Baby boy

A baby boy card again, using this weeks Mojo Monday sketch for the layout.  The stamp is from a clear set of baby stamps (no label so not sure of the company) and I coloured with Promarkers as usual.  The paper is from the same Nitwits pad as the previous baby boy cards - when it's sitting on my desk I tend to use it instead of hunting for anything else! The 'Baby boy' was cut using a Sizzix die and then covered in stickles (although it doesn't show up well in the photo).  The shaped card is from Craftwork cards.

Another birthday girl!

Another quick post as the Sketch Saturday challenge closes in a few minutes and I've used their sketch for the layout on this birthday card - I have lots of cards made, but forget to get round to actually posting them on time!  The paper is from a First Edition pack called Sweet Owl and the twine is from Doodlebug.  The flower was made using a Doohickey die and the leaves are a Sizzix die from SU.  The image is a LOTV die cut square.

Birthday girl

A quick post as I've just realised I'm nearly too late to enter the Sweet stop challenge - and I used this weeks sketch for the layout of this card.  The image is a LOTV die cut square and the paper is from a Tilda pack from Panduro.  Sentiment is from Craftwork cards.  As its blue and white I can also enter the Stampavie challenge.

Another monochrome card

I tend to make a lot of my cards monochrome, so this get well card can also be entered in the I love Promarkers challenge.  The image is a Great Impressions stamp, coloured with Promarkers.  The patterned paper is from a Nitwits pad from LOTV.  The shaped card is from Craftwork Cards.  I think the doily die is by Marianne and the oblong punch for the sentiment is by SU.  The flowers were also made using punches.

New baby boy

A few of the current challenges are 'New something' (LOTV, PFP, Simon Says and CCT) so I made a new baby card.  The image is a LOTV stamp coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and the paper is from a LOTV Nitwits pad.  The circular sentiment is also from LOTV.  As I've used shades of blue for the colouring I will enter it into this weeks I love Promarkers challenge as it's 'Monochrome.'  The Stampavie challenge this week is blue and white - so its fits there as well!
Having problems uploading photos at the moment - blogger isn't giving me the option to 'browse' - can anyone suggest a solution - I've had to store my pics on Picaso then upload it from there - now I've missed entering some of the challenges!

**   Edited to add  - this card has been chosen in the top 5 in the PFP challenge :o)  **
and now also has been chosen in the top 3 in the I love Promarkers challenge!

More felt creations

Today I finished off the wee owl I started yesterday and then made a dog as well - both of them use the new Sizzix Bigz dies.  I almost forgot to put the wings on the owl, but remembered just in time!  The tiny buttons (for eyes) came from MeiFlower and the lace and ribbon has been in my stash for ages.

WOYWW 187

The first WOYWW of 2013! Happy New Year everybody.  My desk this week has bits and pieces still to tidy away from the last few cards I've made, but I wanted to try out a couple of new Sizzix dies I got for Christmas - hence the little felt owl (well he's quite big actually!).  I also got the Scottie dog - so I'm intending to cut him out in felt soon as well.  When we go back to school next week I'm beginning a textiles course with the Creative Crafts class - so I need to try out a few ideas for things they could make - that's my excuse anyway!

Window box card

Now that I have all my 'orders' up to date, I thought I would take time to make another couple of window box cards - I got dies for a window and shutters ages ago, but didn't have time to make as much use of them as I would have liked.  The embossing folder doesn't have any labelling on it, so I'm not sure which company it's made by.  The coloured card is SU rich razzleberry as is the brush marker used for printing the sentiment.  The sentiment stamp is from a clear set by LOTV and the patterned paper is called 'Gwenyth stripe' by Karen Neuburger.  The edge of the blind was made using a MS border punch.  The leafy tendril is a Doohickey die and the flowers were made using a punch.  I made three of these in different colours - they're a great way for using up little scraps of paper and card.  The Papertake Weekly challenge, the CCT challenge and the Simon Says challenge is 'Anything Goes' - so I can enter it there.
