Mojo Monday New Home card

A quick 'New Home card toay, following the Mojo Monday sketch.  I've had the stamp for ages - it's from a clear Woodware set and I coloured it with Promarkers.  The paper is from  a First Edition 6 x 6 pad called 'Summer Breeze.'  The sentiment is one of the new clear sets from LOTV, punched with the SU oval punch.  The key was die cut using an old Quickutz die.                                I picked some raspberries from the garden this evening (- don't know how they've managed to ripen with this awful weather) and I ate them all with Mauds Pooh Bear icecream - yum! (Mind you, I'll probably have a sore tum all night!!)

Exams card and royal visit day 2

The Magnolia challenge this week is to use summer colours, so I made this card using the layout from the Sketch Saturday challenge.  The summery papers are from an MME 6 x 6 pad and I coloured this studious looking Edwin with Promarkers.  The blue and brown twine is by Doodlebug and the stars are cut out using an X-cut die.  The stamp for the books are also Magnolia and the brown ribbon is from SU.

We were up at the Queen's jubilee celebration party at Stormont this afternoon - another lovely outfit again today!  Hopefully she got home before all the rain came - we got out of Belfast just in time to avoid the floods!

WOYWW 160/Royal visit

Before I show my desk this week, I have to show you these photos of our Royal visit.  The Queen and Prince Philip came to open our new hospital this afternoon and our school had prime position at the door.  Unfortunately the camermen from the press stepped in front of us when we were taking some of our photos, but nevertheless we had a great view.  On the way in she gave us a big smile and a wave - one of the other teachers got a brilliant photo (she's taller than me!!) - so I'll have to get a copy.

At least she didn't need to use the umbrella in the back of the car!  We only found out yesterday that we were invited, so the children spent the morning making flags!  They were very excited but the little ones got pretty tired standing, as we had a very long wait.
On to my desk this week - not a lot happening at the moment - too busy with end of term stuff to make many cards.  I had made some cards last week for the shop where we sell them, so they are still on my desk - I must drop them in tomorrow.  There are also lots of bits and pieces as I haven't got round to clearing up after making them!  To see lots more workdesks go to Julia's blog HERE!

Passed your exams

The Sketch and Stash challenge this week is a free choice from their past sketches and as I missed the previous one, I decided to use it for the layout on this card.  The image is new - a free digi download - first time I've used one.  It was coloured with Promarkers. There was also a boy version, but when I printed it out it wasn't very sharp for some reason.  The papers were free with the Simply Homemade magazine and the seam binding ribbon, label puch and red ink pad are all from SU.  The white card candi is from Craftwork cards - a really useful colour as you can use your Promarkers to make them match your card.

Twins birthday

My twin nieces will be 2 next Sunday, so Mum asked me to make a card for her to give to them (I still have my own to do!).  I thought this wee LOTV image was very suitable for twin girls and I matched it up with pink paper from my latest Papermania pad and some Docrafts lemon linen effect card.  I used a Nestabilities die for the scalloped mat and a SU punch.  The butterfly is an x-cut punch and the ribbon is from SU.  I printed the sentiment on the computer and cut it out using a SU punch.  For the layout I followed the sketch on this week's Friday Sketch Challenge.  As I have used a couple of dies I am entering this weeks Allsorts Challenge - 'Any die will do,' and I can also enter the CCT challenge - 'Here comes summer,' and the LOTV one - 'Time to play.'  The colours look a bit strange - I thought I would just use natural daylight, but it has turned out very grey!  I've also managed to cut off the top and bottom of the shaped card (from Craftwork cards).

Magnolia purple and white wedding

A wedding card today, using my Magnolia wedding couple, coloured with Promarkers, to suit their 'Purple and white' challenge.  For the layout I used this weeks Sketch Saturday sketch and I can also enter this week's Papertake Weekly challenge, having used punches, glitter and blooms.  The paper is from my new Papermania pad and the wedding sentiment stamp is from LOTV.

WOYWW 159

Its that time of the week again - when we see what everyone is up to on WOYWW - to link up visit Julia's blog HERE.  This week I have been doing some crafty shopping in Doodlecraft in Cookstown and also in Paperworks Dungannon.  You will see some new paper and ribbon, as well as a sewing kit, to make a washbag, although I think it would be too nice to use as a washbag, I would just use it for storing some crafty tools or something, I think.  I must say this WOYWW is good for helping to keep the desk a bit tidier than before - to think that people all over the world will see all the messy unwashed stamps and bits of scrap paper, is a really good incentive to put things away every week, instead of letting them build up!  Oh - I got all the wedding invites finished last week, and delivered to my niece - think I'll soon need to start on the Order of Service now!

First anniversary

I must begin by welcoming my new followers who have recently joined - I hope you enjoy my cards and crafts.  Today I made an anniversary card using a LOTV stamp - I love this wee stamp - it can be used for engagement or anniversary and is easy to colour (I've used Promarkers). I can enter  this weeks LOTV challenge -'In the garden'- well they must be - they are surrounded by flowers!  The pale pink card  is a Bazzil one with a linen texture.  The patterned paper is from a Panduro Tilda pad and the ribbon is SU (Rose red again).  The anniversary stamp is LOTV and I have used the Sweetstop sketch (SSS163) for the layout.  Since taking the photo I have added Stickles to the flower, the wee girl's skirt and bow.  I am entering the PFP challenge as it is to use lots of layers - I have added quite a few, but kept them fairly flat as it needs to be 5mm thick or less to go through normal post.

Things with wings

The Stampavie challenge for the next fortnight is 'Things with wings' - so another chance to use my new butterfly die!  The butterfly paper is from one of my First Edition pads - can't remember what it's called and the image is from LOTV, as is the sentiment stamp. The pink cotton lace is a bargain buy from the Range - I think it was 99p and buy 2 get one free!   What a mixed up day its been weatherwise here - dry and bright one moment and pouring with rain the next.  I had our  4th years on a visit to Loughry College for the 'Feed your mind' event - don't know about them but it would have inspired me to consider a career in food technology/science - they were making and tasting ice-cream, chocolate and bread - do you think it would be too late for me to consider a career change!?

WOYWW 158

It's that time of the week again, when we have a wee look at everybody's workdesks - if you aren't sure what its all about, check Julia's blog.  My desk is a bit untidy again this week - I had to make quite a few cards for a couple of orders recently and I always find you pull out lots of stuff to make all the different types of cards - so there is a collection of dirty stamps piling up at the right hand side and a few dies gathering up -  I bought them recently and so just had to try them out - I used one of the Cheery Lynn butterfly dies and one of the Shapeabilities tags dies to make the wedding card below - its a bit overloaded with die cuts but you have to try out everything at once!  I found it hard to get the label out of the die, so I have stuck some of the Quickutz ejection foam on, and it seems to be working better now.
The paper came free with the 'Simply Homemade' magazine and I had been wondering what to do with it when I got a text from my Sis wanting me to make 3 thank you cards with a Jubilee theme - just perfect! - so that's what I'll be making next!

The circular plastic thing is part of my circle cutter set I bought at the very first craft fair in the Kings Hall, Belfast, many years ago now - from a company called Creative Memories - they mostly did scrapbooking, but I bought these sets in circles and ovals and have been using them to make cards ever since.

Special Engagement Card

I was asked to make a special engagement card so I used another one of my LOTV stamps.  I used Promarkers for the colouring and the paper came from a Tilda 12 x 12 pad from Panduro.  The plain pink card is SU Rose Red and the flowers were made using various punches.  For the layout I followed the Friday Sketch challenge sketch.  The 'special daughter' stamp is from a clear set I got as a bargain buy at the NEC and the engagement one is from LOTV.  The card is an 8 x 8 one and for some reason or other I can never get a clear photo of this size - the close up setting on my camera seems to blurr it just as much as the normal one!  Mind you the colours are a bit dull as well - the card is actually white - not grey as it looks here - I think I'm just a rubbish photographer!

Another baby boy card

Back to some better weather again today after all the rain.  Hopefully the sunshine will stay for a while this time!

This is a more brightly coloured version of the card I made a couple of days ago, using my LOTV stamp.  This time I have used some of the papers from the 'Snips and snails' Doodlebug pad, with a die cut 'doily' tucked in behind and the green panel embossed with a butterflyt embossing folder.  The sentiment stamp is also from LOTV and the blue card is from SU.

For a girl

Another baby card - this time for a girl - this weeks Stampavie challenge.  I used papers from the Doodlebug pad and the stamps are bith from LOTV, coloured with Promarkers.  The scalloped card is from Craftwork cards (I think).

Baby boy

Here is the card I started yesterday - I love these wee LOTV stamps, they are easy to colour and very cute.  The paper came from a Forever Friends pad called 'Just for him' and I have used all of this design, (and very little of the rest of the pad!).  I used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch for the layout.  The pale blue card is a retired SU shade - I've it all used up now as well - why do they always retire the shades I like best?  I embossed it with a Crafts Too butterfly embossing folder. The cotton lace came from a stall at the NEC and the scallop edged border punch is from SU, as is the kraft coloured card and seam binding ribbon.  The circular sentiment is from LOTV.  I can also enter the LOTV challenge as its 'One for the boys.'

WOYWW

Today's the day for having a wee snoop round everybodys workdesks - see Julia's blog HERE.  I haven't much on my desk this week as I am still in the middle of the wedding invites I have to make, but had to clear them away as I was asked for a few cards for a customer.  I was trying out some of my recent LOTV puchases, and so you can see one all coloured in and ready to be made into a card.

Another Father's Day card

Another quick Fathers's Day card, using a LOTV die cut square again.  This time I used the layout on this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge.  The paper is from a Papermania pack called 'For him' and the kraft coloured card is from SU - 'crumb cake.'

As the new challenge today for Papertake Weekly is 'Anything Goes' with the option of Father's Day, I can enter it there as well!
I spent a good part of today watching all the Jubilee celebrations while making little bows to finish off all the wedding invitations - nearly done now!

Father's Day card

I need to make a few Father's Day cards for the shop, so I have used one of the LOTV cute squares to make a quick and easy card.  The paper is from a free set that came with the Simply Homemade magazine - called The Simply British Collection.  The message is from LOTV as well.  I used the Papertake Weekly layout for this week.  The LOTV challenge is 'Anything Goes' for this week, so I can enter it there as well.

Birthday boy

I have finally got a card made this week - but only because I was asked to make this one urgently!  I have been really busy with the wedding invitations - they are really very addictive - I have been making them in stages and as soon as you get one stage completed on all 70, you want to get on with the next stage.  I have all 70 little boxes now completed and the invites nearly done as well.  Of course there'll be at least twice as many orders of service to be done, but they won't be need for a while yet.  Back to the card - the papers are from the Doodlebug 'Snips and snails' pad and the image is from a clear Woodware set I've had for years! (It has gone a bit soft and sticky - I have found some of the older sets have gone like this - must just be because they are so old!!)  I coloured with Promarkers as usual and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.  I used the sketch from Papertake Weekly and I can also enter it in this weeks Simon Says challenge as it is 'Anything Goes.'

I was at a Jubilee teaparty today - so I must show you a photo of all the goodies we had!

First we had :-

Then we had :-

Yum yum - I think we all ate a bit too much!!  And the weather was lovely - so a great afternoon was had by all!
