Doodlecraft card class

Had a great day out at Doodlecraft.  We made 4 baby cards in two hours, with time for a wee tea break as well. Here are 2 of them, although the colour looks a bit off - the photographers fault again!

We also had to replenish supplies and of course paper was top of the list - even though my 12 x 12 storage is overflowing!  There were so many lovely co-ordinating sets it was difficult to choose, but I ended up with 4 sheets from the MME 'Good Day Sunshine' range and 4 from the Echo Park 'Springtime' range, which are all double sided.  I also got the long Tim Holtz die which makes a paper rosette, some ribbon, an EK success punch and the new little fine nibs for my promarker pens.  Haven't had a chance to try anything out yet, but hopefully will have a go next week, although it is the Co Agricultural Show and we'll be busy getting the school entries in and out, so my crafting may have to wait a day or two!

Funky Chicken

Hello again,
No cards today I'm afraid - I spent most of the day trying to sort out Nathan's bedroom - at what age do they start clearing up after themselves? - I hope its sooner rather than later!  Unfortunately its still not finished, but it will have to wait 'til next week as tomorrow we are going off to a class in Doodlecraft (Cookstown) - I think its baby cards we're making.
Anyhow, my blog is not just for cards as I like all kinds of other crafts as well and this little hen was made using fabric from The Craft Factory, Ballymena.  I had a pattern and the beads used for the feet, comb and wattle came with the pattern - but I was able to buy similar ones to make a few more.  It is a really cute way to store pins, needles, scissors etc.

Born to shop

I have finally finished my card for the Whiff of Joy challenge - it was a sketch.  I dusted off my prismacolors for colouring today - I like the effect, but it takes a lot more time than promarkers.  The paper is  Basic Grey called Marjolaine and I have about 10 different designs in this set, all double sided - these are some of my favourite colours.
I am a rubbish photographer - I manage to make all my cards look like they have a rather wonky shape - maybe I need a new camera!?

I have just booked flights to Birmingham for the NEC on the 4th November - looking forward to it already.  The craft fair in Belfast has deteriorated over the past couple of years - fewer stands from the mainland than previously, so its great to get to Birmingham.

My Craft Room

I didn't get my card for the Whiff of Joy challenge finished yesterday - hopefully I'll finish it off and get back later.  In the meantime I thought I could show you my wee craft room.  We had an extension built a few years ago and included a mezzanine above the sunroom (we live in a bungalow).  Its quite difficult to photograph but this should give you the general idea!
You will notice from the dates the first two photos were taken just after it was completed - unfortunately it's not so tidy now!  The desk won't even close at the moment because of all the clutter, but it is brilliant for crafting as all the drawers have moveable dividers and are good for storing all the smaller stuff like peel offs and punches.  There are 3 sets of double cupboards for all the larger things, the centre one having a pull out shelf for using my cricut machine, printer, etc.

This cupboard has a paper sorter where I can store all my A4 paper and then the 12 x 12s are in another one.  At the moment I am trying to sort things out as it gets a bit untidy when I try to make lots of different cards in a hurry, so I'll maybe post more photos of some of my other storage ideas another day!

Anniversary card

Today I have an anniversary card made with a cute Penny Black stamp called 'Furry Embrace.'  I used water colour pencils to colour then cut out the image and raised it on foam squares.  I used some of the hearts punched out of the border and stuck these on with foam squares also, then applied a liberal coating of stickles to them and to the roses as well.  The border puch is from Fiskars and I have used a Bic permanent marker to colour a small silver peel-off for the sentiment.  The pink part of the flower was punched using a daisy punch and the green part is a small bought mulberry paper one, fastened together with a small pink brad.  The paper is from a co-ordinating 6 x 6 pack I've had for ages and so I've lost the cover!

Annalisa - I have used an Archival sepia ink pad for this image, but I quite often use Memento ink pads, especially if I'm colouring with promarkers - and no - its not my anniversary - thats April 13th!

Fun and Games

I have finally got a card made for the LOTV challenge which is called 'Fun and games.'  I have used 'Transportation' paper by TPC Studio - this is the end of about 5 co-ordinating 12 x 12s I have had for quite a while and loved for childrens cards.  Oh well - it is always an excuse to go shopping for more.  I have also used my bunting dies - I have been using them on everything lately! - and nesties for the sentiment circle.  Hope you like it!

Whats cooking?

Here is my entry for this weeks Just Magnolia and hAnglar blog challenge - 'What's cooking?'  I'm not sure what the name of this stamp is - I've had it quite a while. The paper is DCWV Nana's Kitchen.  The happy birthday sentiment is from Stampin Up and the oven glove, rolling pin etc are from a clear set - possibly Woodware? I used promarkers for colouring and a couple of nesties for the scalloped edged mats.

It's been a fantastic day here today - looks like summer has come at last - my tomatoes may even start to ripen if the sun continues to shine!

Bunting card

Made this card the other day but by the time I got round to uploading it the challenge had ended!  I made the owl using the stampin up punch then used peel offs for the mortar board and scroll.  The banner was made using whimsy dies and the branch was a sizzix die from stampin up.

Fimo minis

My daughter is entering a fimo competition and so I am trying to up load photos - this is just a wee trial run!

Hello

I have just decided to begin a blog in order to enter some of the challenges.  Don't know whether I'll be able to update it often or not but I have to start somewhere!
